Koosh Chics song psychologically portrays
the appeal of the child ego to the superego.
In Germany, as in other countries, young people are mainly protesting for the future. They believe that the international efforts are not enough, so they are sticking themselves with glue at their hand to houses or in the middle of the street in protest. At the time, I was working as an emergency chaplain alongside the police, fire department, and ambulance service. I tried to warn those participating in civil disobedience that they could become targets of forms of repression that do not officially exist, similar to the dehumanization seen during the GDR era and the Nazi past. The latter causing 12 million murders German KZs within 4 years. Thoughts are the first steps to action: The local police have drawn attention to themselves in the press with a dehumanizing WA group. Another WA group with members of German police published by German TV shows a huge exchange of jokes, e.g. some of the content of 2015 about black retarded child, Jews in Auschwitz, rape of dead assaulted women, jokes over the death of a foreign baby drowned and lying on the beach in the context many boot refugees form Africa couldn't reach alive the outer border of Europe, etc. The officers of this WA group are still paid in full since 2015, its over 1Million EUR wage, same in other German states as TV report stated. You really can't imagine the evil such people coming to the power of German executive arm! Serious trouble in paradise of status quo. So, I visited a nearby local protest group, offered my services as a trained psychological coach. If they got into trouble I wanted to help in spirit of Victor Frankl as I was doing anyway as for suicidal people, survivors of the deceased, perpetrators. At that time, some of the members began a long hunger strike to force the government to talk to them about the future. They liked to refer to successful idols of the past, including Gandhi. I pointed out Gandhi had NOT fasted in protest in order to blackmail one emotionally, but to strengthen his negotiating partner, to be with them. This strengthening should promote mutual empathy, the ability to find common ground even in the face of strong differences, to be reflected in the other person, even for many people. This is fully functioning humanism. The local Gandhi researcher had already offered his service of consulting, but the Status Quo in this group still remained, endangering young peoples lives. WHY? Gandhi's non-violent way shows the best success: at the time of the WWII, Gandhi's negotiating partner was the strongest superpower at the time: the British Empire. He achieved success for millions of people. Not only in India, but also for the pride of the British nation. While millions died in Europe and ASIA e.g. China and Japan(i.a. Hiroshima, Nagasaki) during the WWII, two opposing and culturally different parties were able to come to a peaceful national agreement because of Gandhi's humanistic approach. At the very same WW2! Changing the status quo starts with oneself.
